Hughes, Selebø and Hovind unite under Team Norway WMX by Absolut MX

A new structure is set to enter the 2026 WMX World Championship paddock: Team Norway WMX by Absolut MX with the support of the Norwegian federation (NMF Sport). The newly formed squad brings together Martine Hughes, Mathea Selebø and Rosalita Hovind, and will compete in the full WMX World Championship season under the Kawasaki banner.

Norway continues to produce promising female talent, and the creation of this dedicated structure marks an important step in supporting their development at world level. With full-season backing, the three riders will now be able to focus entirely on performance and progression.

Martine Hughes already proved her potential on the international stage. Last season she secured a podium finish at the GP of Türkiye and went on to claim seventh overall in the WMX World Championship, despite missing the final round in Australia.

The 2022 European Champion, Mathea Selebø, finished 13th overall in last year’s world standings and continues to establish herself as a consistent contender.

Rosalita Hovind is the youngest member of the trio. Third in the 2024 EMX Women 125 Championship, she endured a challenging start to the season due to a broken collarbone and additional health issues. However, she bounced back to score her first world championship point in race two of the Dutch GP — a sign of her determination and long-term potential.

With a balanced mix of experience, youth and proven results, Team Norway by Absolut MX could quickly become a structure to watch in the WMX paddock.
