Three rounds into the five-round WMX World Championship, the manufacturers’ standings are beginning to take shape. This weekend, Kiara Fontanesi scored the maximum 50 points for GasGas, allowing the Austrian brand to further extend its lead over its rivals. GasGas could even secure the manufacturers’ title as early as the next round in Arnhem.
Yamaha collected points through Lotte van Drunen in Race 1 and Shana van der Vlist in Race 2, but the Japanese manufacturer is now under pressure from Kawasaki, led by Courtney Duncan. Just seven points separate the two brands in the battle for second place. KTM has slipped to fourth but remains firmly in contention thanks to Malou Jakobsen and Lucy Barker.
Honda holds onto fifth place thanks to April Franzoni’s performances. TM Moto is losing ground following the absence of its sole representative, Lynn Valk, while Husqvarna has closed the gap thanks to Danée Gelissen. Triumph remains eighth in the standings, with points contributed by Amber Simons and Lilly-Ann Pettus.
