What a season for April Franzoni! Just two weeks after standing on the podium at her home Grand Prix, the Honda SR rider secured her first French MXF Championship title at the final round of the season.
Level on points with seven-time defending champion Amandine Verstappen heading into the finale, Franzoni made her intentions clear by setting the fastest lap in qualifying. In the opening race, she spent the early stages chasing Verstappen before making the decisive pass and pulling away to claim victory. Taking the lead early in the second race, the young French rider delivered a series of impressive laps to secure another win and, with it, the championship crown. The closing laps must have felt endless, but the reward was worth the wait. After an outstanding season, Franzoni can celebrate a title that could be the first of many.
Verstappen had to settle for second place in the championship. The Belgian rider, who shares the record for the most French MXF titles with Livia Lancelot, saw her remarkable winning streak come to an end. She will undoubtedly return next season aiming to reclaim the crown and become the sole record holder. In the first race, Verstappen led the field but was unable to resist Franzoni’s charge. A difficult start in race two left her with too much ground to recover despite a determined comeback effort.
Lisa Guerber (3-4) secured another overall podium finish to conclude a highly consistent season. Her performances throughout the year earned her third place in the championship standings. Lysa Raoux (5-3) finished fourth overall at the final round and also secured fourth in the championship aboard her Stark Varg.
Lena Marques (4-5) completed the top five. The Team JS Racing rider delivered two solid races and finished fifth in the final championship standings. Britt Van Muylem (7-6) took sixth overall. The Team JPR rider showed strong potential throughout the season and continued her progression at the finale.
Lea Lesoil (6-8) maintained her consistency with seventh overall. The New Bike rider claimed victory in the 125cc class and secured the French vice-champion title in the category. Justine Blanchard (8-7) finished eighth overall, ahead of Amélie Giraud (12-9) in ninth.
Celia Duborper (11-11) rounded out the overall top ten. Finishing second in the 125cc class was enough to secure the first national title of her career. After a dominant start to the season, she faced a more challenging second half but successfully held onto her championship lead. A remarkable achievement for the deaf rider.
Klelya Cerisier celebrated her first podium finish in the 125cc category, marking another milestone in her young career.
The 2026 French MXF Championship delivered thrilling battles from the opening round to the finale, with both titles decided only at the very end. A season that lived up to all expectations and leaves fans eagerly awaiting the start of the 2027 campaign.
