Italy Femminile Città di Castello – Preview & Entry List

This weekend, nearly 50 riders will gather in Città di Castello for the opening round of the Italian Women’s Motocross Championship.

Kiara Fontanesi (GasGas), the multiple defending champion, is aiming for her tenth national title. The six-time WMX world champion hopes to maintain her unbeaten record and start with a victory.

Giorgia Montini will also be competing. The two-time Italian champion, a Honda rider, will be one of the favorites at the start.

Danée Gelissen, the 2025 Italian runner-up, will not be present. The Dutch rider has chosen to participate in the EMX Women’s European Championship.

Lucy Barker (KTM) makes her debut in the championship. The British rider, who had a stellar end to the 2025 WMX World Championship season, is looking to climb the ranks. We’ll get our first glimpse of her potential this weekend.

Another WMX World Championship rider, Nellie Fransson (Yamaha), is making her return to the championship.

Among others, we’ll see Alessia di Luccia (Husqvarna), winner of the U17 class, Priska Busatto (KTM), and Giorgia Giudici (Husqvarna). We’ll also be keeping an eye on Gaia Franchi’s (Honda) return after her injury and the performance of Emanuela Talucci (Yamaha). Ana Kolnookov (KTM) shone at the championship finale, and everyone is eager to see her performance this weekend.

We haven’t mentioned all the riders present or absent, but the Italian championship is increasingly establishing itself as a benchmark. There will be fierce competition at all levels. Check the full list of registered riders and stay tuned for the results.
