This Saturday, the seventh round of the German DMX Motocross Championship took place in Teutschenthal. Championship leader Larissa Papenmeier and runner-up Alexandra Massury were absent from this event due to a double-header with the GP of Türkiye.
Impressive at the German GP in Teutschenthal in early June, Tanja Schlosser made the most of her return to the Talkessel. Despite pressure from Kapsamer, the Triumph rider won both rounds to secure her first victory in the German DMX Championship. Behind, Elena Kapsamer gave her all to take the win. Following a similar pace to Schlosser, the GasGas rider couldn’t find a way through. Another good result for the Austrian with a second place overall. Mara Benecke completed the podium for the round. After two good starts, she struggled to get into the rhythm before gaining positions in the latter stages.
Kim Irmgartz also returned to the circuit that marked her final race in the WMX World Championship. The Honda rider came close to a podium finish this weekend. Expected to finish fifth this weekend, Fiona Hoppe finished fifth. Battling with Benecke and Irmgartz, the German rider made a few mistakes.
Dutchwoman Kyshara Das made some excellent starts. The European EMX Women 125 runner-up finished sixth but will not appear in the championship standings. Behind her were Emely Koehler, Pauline Amy Scezponek, Franka Blümchen, Luzie Knop, and Rosalie Völker in the top 10. Lisa Michels won the MX Ladies powered by DMV class.
Larissa Papenmeier remains the championship leader and is expected to be crowned champion at the final round, which will take place in Thurm at the end of September after the MXGP of Australia.
