Kiara Fontanesi extends unbeaten streak with dominant Fermo victory

Kiara Fontanesi continued her perfect start to the season by winning the third round of the Italian Women’s Motocross Championship at Fermo. The six-time WMX World Champion secured another overall victory, strengthening her lead in the standings.

Race 1

Kiara Fontanesi quickly took the lead ahead of Lucy Barker and Giorgia Montini. The Italian rider immediately set a strong pace and opened a gap to control the race comfortably, winning by 15 seconds over Barker. Montini secured third place, ahead of Nellie Fransson and Emanuela Talucci.

Race 2

Lucy Barker led the opening laps under pressure from Fontanesi. The KTM rider controlled the race for five laps before Fontanesi made a decisive move on lap six to take the lead. Montini once again finished third, riding a consistent race in isolation. Fransson and Desire Agosti battled for fourth place, with the Swedish rider eventually making the pass mid-race to secure fourth.

Overall

Fontanesi completed another perfect weekend with a double race win, marking her third consecutive overall victory of the season. Barker returned to the podium after missing the previous round and showed strong pace, briefly threatening Fontanesi in Race 2. Montini secured third overall with two consistent finishes and maintains her second place in the championship standings.

Fransson finished fourth overall after strong races performance, which also allowed her to move up in the championship standings. Agosti completed the top five despite fading late in Race 1.
