This weekend also marked the opening round of the Canadian Motocross Championship. After racing Friday and Saturday at Hangtown, where she finished fourth overall, Jordan Jarvis made the trip north for the first round of the series. Riding for the Dusty Rocks MX team, JJ made a mistake in the first moto before bouncing back in the second. Charging through the field in the second half of the race, she took the win. With a third-place finish and a victory, she leaves the opening round with the red plate.
Kaylie Kayer (1-3) finished second overall, tied on points with Jarvis. The MX101 FXR Yamaha rider impressed throughout the weekend. She dominated the first moto and only lost ground after a small mistake in the second race.
Isla Phillips (4-2) earned her first overall podium finish. The young American delivered a solid first moto despite a few mistakes. In the second race, she battled at the front and even took over the lead with some impressive lap times before being passed by Jarvis on the final lap. She was simply outstanding.
Reigning champion Jamie Astudillo (2-4) was also in contention for the podium. The Priority MX rider made a few costly mistakes, especially in the second moto. Finishing fourth overall, she will look to bounce back next weekend. Kiana Kurtz (5-5) completed the top five with two consistent rides.
Brandy McLarty (6-7) showed good potential in the opening round despite a few small mistakes. Hannah Cole (8-8) had a more difficult weekend. Fast in qualifying, the GDR Team rider struggled to maintain that pace during the motos. Amelie Croteau (7-9) secured ninth overall. The Guaranteed Comfort Racing rider gets her championship campaign off to a solid start.
Katrine Ferguson (11-6) endured a challenging weekend. The reigning 2025 Western Championship winner made a costly mistake in the first moto. Stronger in the second race, she was expected to battle for the podium, but things did not come together for her this weekend.
