Amber Simons suffered a heavy crash on Sunday morning at the start of the second moto. She was attended to by the medical team before being taken for further examinations, which revealed fractures to two vertebrae. She will undergo additional tests once she returns home.
The Dutch rider, who has enjoyed a very strong season so far, now faces a lengthy recovery.
