Kiara Fontanesi has secured another milestone in her remarkable career, clinching the 2026 Italian Women’s Motocross Championship title at Malagrotta with one round still remaining.
The GasGas – Fiamme Oro rider delivered another dominant performance, winning both races to maintain her perfect record in the championship. With the maximum number of points secured at Malagrotta, Fontanesi is now mathematically out of reach of her rivals.
The Parma-born rider has now claimed her tenth Italian Women’s title, adding another national championship to an already impressive career.
Fontanesi topped the overall standings at Malagrotta ahead of Sweden’s Nellie Fransson (Yamaha), who finished second, while Giorgia Montini (Honda – Gaerne) completed the overall podium. Gaia Franchi (Honda – Gorlese Mario Colombo) finished fourth, followed by Emanuela Talucci (Yamaha – Gaerne).
Fransson leads the Under-19 class
In the Under-19 category, Nellie Fransson took the victory at Malagrotta and continues to lead the championship standings.
Emanuela Talucci finished second and retained the red plate, while Cecilia Polato (GasGas – Gaerne) completed the podium.
Tamas wins Ama Over-19
Lora Tamas (Husqvarna – Pardi Royal Pat) claimed the Ama Over-19 victory at Malagrotta. She finished ahead of Martina Cera (KTM – Pardi) and Beatrice Gargani (Honda – Torre della Meloria).
Championship leader Asia Macini (KTM – Team Fix) finished fourth and retains the red plate.
Di Luccia dominates the 125cc class
In the 125cc category, Alessia Di Luccia (Husqvarna – Caserta) dominated the weekend, sweeping both heats and leading from the opening lap to the chequered flag.
Noemi Zanni (Fantic – Gaerne) showed strong pace throughout the races to take two second-place finishes, securing second overall. Sofia Chermaz (Yamaha – Gaerne) completed the podium.
The Over-17 category was won by Deborah Aquilini (Yamaha – Somma Lombardo), ahead of Federica Piantamori (Yamaha – Trasimeno) and Giulia Milani (KTM – Milani). Despite finishing fourth at Malagrotta, Letizia Marconi (TM – Mcv Motorsport) remains the championship leader heading into the final round.
With the Italian title already secured, all eyes will now turn to the final round of the 2026 championship, where Fontanesi will have the opportunity to close out her perfect season on home soil.
