The third round of the Danish Women’s Motocross Championship took place this weekend in Vojens. Championship leader Line Dam was absent after the crash she suffered at the MXGP of Germany, leaving the door open for her rivals in the title fight.
Malou Jakobsen (1-1) seized the opportunity perfectly, claiming two race wins to secure her second victory of the season. The Danish rider, currently fourth in the WMX World Championship standings, got off to strong starts in both motos and controlled the races under pressure from Sara Andersen. With this perfect score, Jakobsen moves to the top of the championship standings with two rounds remaining.
Sara Andersen (2-2) pushed hard throughout the day but was unable to find a way past Jakobsen. The Wozniak MX Yamaha Racing Team rider stayed within striking distance in both races and delivered another consistent performance. Her second-place finish moves her into second in the championship, just 13 points behind Jakobsen.
Louise Eriksen (3-4) secured her first podium finish of the season. After a difficult start to the year, the Danish rider continues to build momentum and appears to be returning to her best form at the right time.
Anna Henriksen Legaard (5-3) narrowly missed out on the podium in fourth. A mistake in the opening moto cost her valuable positions, but she bounced back with a strong third-place finish in race two.
Jasmina Rasksen (4-5) completed the top five with two consistent rides, maintaining solid pace throughout the day.
Amalie Moller Gertsen (6-6) finished sixth overall ahead of Josefine Kaae Jørgensen (7-7), Ditte-Cecilia Studsgaard Lehmkuhl (9-9), and Melanie Horkenborg (12-8), who all scored important championship points.
Sofie Kampf (13-11) rounded out the top ten after another determined performance.
With only two rounds remaining, the championship battle is beginning to take shape. Jakobsen now leads the standings, but Andersen remains within striking distance, while the return of Line Dam could add another twist to the title fight.
