This weekend, one of the highlights of the motocross calendar will be the fourth round of the German DMX Championship in Magdeburg.
Championship leader Larissa Papenmeier will be looking to maintain her momentum and preserve her unbeaten record. The German rider, who recently brought her international career to a close, could take a significant step towards another title with a strong result this weekend.
Among her main challengers will be Alexandra Massury. Following her impressive performance at her home Grand Prix, she will be eager to return to the podium. Amber Simons endured a mixed weekend at the GP, but the Dutch rider will be aiming for another podium finish to strengthen her position in the championship standings. Elena Kapsamer is also expected to be in the fight for the podium. The Austrian suffered a crash last weekend but should once again be among the front-runners.
Tanja Schlosser showed strong pace in the second moto last weekend and appears to be returning to her best form. Having secured podium finishes and a race victory last year in Papenmeier’s absence, the German rider will be targeting her first podium finish of the season.
Several riders from the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship (WMX) will also be in action, including Wiktoria Kupczyk and Adrija Skudutyte. Kupczyk will be aiming to continue her progress with two solid races, while Skudutyte could be a strong contender for a top-five finish. Kyshara Das, who skipped the Women’s European Championship round in Romania, is also set to compete in Magdeburg. Meanwhile, Fiona Hoppe will be looking to regain her best form.
