It’s a rumor that’s been circulating since the start of the season and gained momentum after the MXGP of Germany. Lotte van Drunen is heading to the United States to participate in the next two rounds of the AMA Women’s Motocross Championship. She’ll start this weekend in Thunder Valley before heading to High Point the following week. She will be using her number 401 again for the occasion.
The two-time WMX world champion is having a difficult start to the season with crashes, not always her fault, and is currently ninth in the championship standings. While she’ll be eager to get back on the podium, the Dutch rider is taking on a new challenge.
Although she has already competed in events on American soil, this will be Lotte’s first WMX championship race. Her performance will be closely watched, as many fans are wondering where American riders stand in the world rankings. We’ll start to get some answers this Friday.
