The final round of the Australian MXW Championship took place this weekend at QLD Moto Park, where American rider Lachlan Turner secured her maiden Australian title.
After a hard-fought battle with Charli Cannon in the opening moto, Turner claimed a convincing victory to clinch the championship. The second moto followed a similar script, with Turner taking another win to complete the season undefeated.
Reigning champion Charli Cannon, who was nursing a shoulder injury, fought through the pain to finish second in both motos. She ended the championship in third overall.
Taylah McCutcheon (3-3) completed the overall podium after another consistent weekend. The Kawasaki rider enjoyed a solid opening moto before getting another strong start in race two. Although Madi Simpson (5-4) kept the pressure on throughout the race, McCutcheon held her ground to secure second place in the championship. Simpson also impressed in the final round, finishing fourth overall after a strong performance aboard her Yamaha.
Emma Milesevic (4-5) rounded out the top five after two impressive rides, crossing the line just behind Simpson in the second moto. In her comeback season, she finished fourth in the championship standings.
Darci Whalley (7-6) claimed sixth overall, ahead of Mia Tongue (6-8), Karaitiana Horne (11-7) and Addison Orr (9-9). Leah Rimbas (12-10) completed the top ten overall at the championship finale.
