Still undefeated since the start of the season, Kiara Fontanesi arrives in Fermo as the clear favourite for the third round of the Italian Women’s Motocross Championship.
The championship leader will be aiming to extend her winning streak and continue building confidence ahead of the opening round of the WMX World Championship next weekend in France. Currently second in the standings, Giorgia Montini hopes to continue her strong momentum with another podium finish. The Honda rider is also set to compete in France next weekend.
Following her impressive second-place finish in Maggiora, Nellie Fransson arrives full of confidence and will once again be among the contenders for Yamaha JK Racing. Lucy Barker returns to action after missing the second round. The fast British rider will be looking to challenge at the front and close the gap to Fontanesi.
Another rider enjoying a strong start to the season is Desire Agosti. After narrowly missing the podium in the opening two rounds, the Honda rider currently sits third in the championship standings and will once again be one to watch in Fermo.
Emanuela Talucci has rediscovered consistency this season, regularly finishing inside the top five. She is expected to continue her close battles with Priska Busatto, who is steadily improving with each round. After finishing fifth on her return in Maggiora, Cecilia Polato should also be in the mix once again.
Further back, riders such as Giorgia Giudici, Sofia Beltramo, Eleonora Ambrosini, Chantal Pavoni and Chiara Rinaldi are all expected to fight for top-ten positions.
In the 125cc category, championship leader Ana Kolnookov remains the rider to beat, still undefeated since the start of the season. Alessia Di Luccia continues to emerge as her closest challenger and will be looking to close the gap at the top of the standings. With two podium finishes already this season, Valentina Giglio is also expected to remain in contention for another strong result. Behind them, Alessia Saiu, Noemi Zanni and Sofia Chermaz are all capable of fighting for podium positions this weekend.
