Charli Cannon proves her determination with a podium despite injury

Charli Cannon was eager to shine at the second round of the Australian Championship last weekend. The Honda rider got off to a strong start before crashing while battling Lachlan Turner for the lead. After remounting, she fought her way back to finish the race in second place. A few hours later, the Australian secured another runner-up finish.

On social media, Charli revealed that the crash resulted in a fractured shoulder blade and heavy bruising. Despite the pain, she managed to complete the day’s races.

Charli Cannon will now take some time to recover before returning to competition. She could miss several events on her schedule. She was set to contest the final two rounds of the Australian Championship at the end of July and beginning of August before heading to the United States for the final three rounds of the WMX Championship. She is then expected to wrap up her season at the MXGP of Australia in September.

Get well soon, Charli!
