This past weekend marked the third round of the French Enduro Championship in Moirans en Montagne, delivering intense competition and a standout performance from British rider Rosie Rowett.
Rosie Rowett wins three-way battle on saturday
On Saturday, Rosie Rowett (Rieju) claimed victory after a fierce three-way fight, setting the fastest time in four of the six special tests. She edged out France’s Marine Lemoine (KTM) by just over 13 seconds. Lemoine, recently selected for the upcoming ISDE with Team France, won two specials but lost time in the third. Despite that, she delivered a strong performance overall.
Elodie Chaplot (Beta) joined the fight for the podium, finishing third—31 seconds behind Rowett. After a slow start in the first special, she matched Lemoine’s pace for the rest of the day.
Justine Martel (Atomic Moto) came in fourth, ahead of teammate Mauricette Brisebard, who made her return to the championship on the new Beta 200. Brisebard narrowly beat Sherco rider Lorna Lafont by three seconds. The young Lafont impressed with a strong opening day.
Another win for Rowett, Lemoine injured on sunday
Sunday brought a shake-up to the competition. Marine Lemoine’s day was cut short after a crash on a jump forced her to withdraw from the race. Rosie Rowett capitalized on the situation, dominating five of the six specials and taking the overall win with nearly a one-minute lead over Elodie Chaplot.
Chaplot continued her solid form, winning one special and securing second place. Justine Martel returned to the podium with a strong ride, finishing close behind Chaplot.
Mauricette Brisebard took fourth despite a tough final special, ahead of Lorna Lafont, who continues to gain experience at the top level. Rose Alegre-Roumec (Sherco) rounded out the top six with a consistent performance.
Rowett Builds big lead in the Championship
Thanks to her double win in Moirans and Lemoine’s unfortunate DNF, Rosie Rowett now has a comfortable lead in the overall standings. The British rider is closing in on what could be her first French Enduro Championship title.
Marine Lemoine, who has had a fantastic season so far, will now focus on recovery. Her title hopes have taken a hit, but her early-season performances remain a highlight. Andrea Degiovanni retains third place overall, with a narrow three-point lead over Charlene Boudon. Justine Martel’s strong weekend sees her move up to fifth in the standings.
The championship continues with Round 4 scheduled for late September in Bellou La Ferrière aux Étangs.
