This weekend marks the opening of the brand new MXGB British Women’s Motocross Championship at Fatcat Motoparc.
Over the winter, the Women’s Championship in Great Britain has undergone significant development, driven by the efforts of several key individuals. The 2026 season will feature five rounds, running from March to October, setting the stage for a competitive campaign.
In 2025, Libby Chatburn secured the title with four wins out of five rounds. Lauren Collingwood claimed one victory, while Amber McGregor, runner-up last season, returns among the riders to watch this year.
For this opening round, attention will also be on Lucy Barker, currently the top British rider. The KTM rider, who finished eleventh in the last WMX World Championship, will be lining up against the national field this weekend.
Several questions remain ahead of the first gate drop: can Chatburn maintain her winning form? Will McGregor close the gap this season? And how will Barker position herself in this opening round?
