The Manufacturers’ standings in the WMX World Championship evolved this weekend in Turkey ahead of the final round in Australia.
Thanks to Daniela Guillen’s victory in the first race and Kiara Fontanesi’s victory in the second, GasGas takes the lead in the standings with an eight-point lead. The Spanish brand, now under the Austrian flag, looks set to clinch its first title with these two riders. Yamaha is now second in the championship. Lotte van Drunen contributed 38 points to the manufacturer this weekend but faces two challenges. Her priority is to win the individual title.
With Lynn Valk absent, KTM can count on Lucy Barker to score strong points and maintain third place in the championship. Honda remains in fourth place thanks to the performances of April Franzoni and Larissa Papenmeier. With the Frenchwoman injured, Larissa will receive help from Cannon in Australia. Kawasaki is scoring good points and closing in on Honda, thanks to Martine Hughes’ podium finish. While it’s uncertain whether the Norwegian will travel to Australia, Taylah McCutcheon will be there. Matha Selebø allows Fantic to consolidate his sixth place this weekend. Triumph remains seventh but did not score any points this weekend.
