Martine Hughes secures Swedish Championship Title

This Saturday marked the final round of the Swedish Championship. Entering the event as the championship leader, Martine Hughes needed a strong points finish to clinch the title. Riding on a muddy track, the Norwegian dominated both races by a comfortable margin to claim a well-deserved championship victory.

Tyra Bäckström took second place. Despite difficult conditions, the GasGas rider made good starts and fought hard for podium positions. Though she made minor mistakes in each race, she achieved her best result of the season. Matilda Huss completed the final podium, earning valuable points in both heats that secured her second place in the championship overall.

Sara Andersen finished fourth in the final. The Danish rider from the Wozniak MX Yamaha Racing team was again somewhat unlucky. A four-time champion in this series, she finished third overall in 2025 after returning from injury.

Malou Jakobsen took fifth place today. After a strong first race fighting for second, a mistake in the second race prevented her from finishing higher. Jenny Engeland delivered a solid sixth-place finish, ahead of Natalie Kane thanks to a better second race.

The Irish rider had a strong season in her return and finished ahead of Barbara Aagaard Andersen, Annie Nilsson, and Sofia Schou.
