KL Racing Team takes a break

KL Racing Team, a Danish structure present in the MXGP and WMX paddock for the past two years, has announced that it will put its racing program on hold for the 2026 season. The team—managed by Kristoffer Larsen—welcomed Danish rider Malou Jakobsen this season, supporting her full-time in the WMX World Championship.

According to Larsen, the decision to pause the team is linked to financial and personal circumstances, making it impossible to continue at world level next year. This is not the end of the project but a temporary hiatus, with the intention of returning once conditions allow.

The news is particularly unfortunate in a paddock where few teams commit to supporting female riders at the world level. Despite the setback, Malou Jakobsen who showcased strong speed and promising results throughout the season, is expected to continue her WMX journey with the support of her personal sponsors, who have stood behind her since the beginning of her career.
