Kim Irmgartz bids farewell to the WMX World Stage at the MXGP of Germany

An emotional chapter came to a close at the 2025 MXGP of Germany as Kim Irmgartz lined up for her final race in the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship (WMX). Competing in front of her home fans, the German rider said goodbye to the international stage—but not to motocross.

A career built on passion and perseverance

Kim started her world career in 2006 during the second edition of the Women World Cup with eleventh place. Since this season, the German driver has many seasons integrating the Top 10 on several occasions in GPs. Over the years, Kim Irmgartz established herself as a steady and determined presence in the WMX paddock. While the spotlight often shone on title contenders, Kim earned respect for her consistency, work ethic, and love for the sport.

Juggling international competition with her commitments in the German national championship, she balances the demanding world of WMX with a grounded, grassroots connection to the sport in her home country. She notably finished runner-up in the German championship twice behind her friend Larissa Papenmeier.

A new chapter begins

In recent years, Kim has often had to fend for herself at races, cleaning her bike, doing the mechanics, etc. She left her mark on women’s motocross in Europe and the United States where she participated in several rounds of the WMX US championship. Though she’s stepping away from the world championship, Kim isn’t retiring. Her presence will still be felt on the track, especially in Germany, where she plans to continue competing and inspiring future generations. With her experience and dedication, she remains a valuable figure in women’s motocross—on and off the bike.

THANKS KIM !
