Italian motocross rider Gaia Franchi has suffered an injury during a free practice session at the German Motocross Championship in Aichwald. She confirmed the news today on her Instagram account, revealing she sustained a fracture to the head of the humerus—an injury that will require surgical intervention in the coming days.
“Ciao a tutti.. unfortunately yesterday at the German Championship, following a bad crash during free practice, I suffered a fracture to the head of the humerus that will require surgery in the next few days,” she wrote.
Despite the setback, Franchi remains determined to return to racing as soon as possible:
“It’s a forced break that will keep me off the bike for a while, but I’ll do my best to come back soon and continue the great work I’ve been doing this season.”
The injury comes at a tough time for Franchi, who had been showing strong results in her 2025 campaign with points scored during the MXGP of Spain, and actually seventh in the Italian championship.
We wish Gaia a speedy recovery and hope to see her back on the track soon.
