April Franzoni’s season came to an abrupt end this Sunday during the second race of the GP of Türkiye. The French rider suffered a heavy crash and was stretchered off the track by paramedics as she battled with Lotte van Drunen to keep her fifth place. Medical examinations later confirmed a fracture of the tibia and fibula.
The Honda SR rider was scheduled to make her MX2 debut at the MXGP of China before heading to Australia for the WMX Championship finale. This injury ends her 2025 campaign prematurely and puts a stop to her growing momentum in the championship.
Franzoni had shown solid performances throughout the season and was looking forward to new challenges on the international stage.
