Another victory for Amandine Verstappen in Chaulieu

The fifth round of the 2025 French Women’s Motocross Championship (MXF) took place this past weekend in Chaulieu. Amandine Verstappen confirmed her dominance with a fourth overall victory, while the battle for the top five tightened.

Verstappen maintains her lead

Amandine Verstappen (2-1) delivered another strong performance. Despite a challenging first moto on a wet track, the New Bike Yamaha rider showed her championship form in the second. After grabbing the holeshot, the Belgian stretched her lead and secured the race win — and with it, her fourth overall victory of the season. With just two rounds to go, she now holds a 26-point lead in the MXF standings.

Franzoni fights on for the title

April Franzoni impressed in the opening race, where she secured the holeshot and rode to a convincing win. However, the Honda rider was less comfortable in the second moto on the drying track and finished second overall. With two races left, Franzoni will need to reduce the gap to Verstappen quickly if she wants to stay in contention for the 2025 MXF title.

Joineau steps up to third in the standings

Jessie Joineau (3-3) continued her consistent form with another solid third-place finish overall. The New Bike Yamaha rider made very few mistakes and capitalized on the results of Virginie Germond, injured in race 1. As a result, Joineau moves into third place in the overall championship standings.

Guerber, Raoux, and Chaput in the mix

Lisa Guerber (4-4) had a strong weekend. Starting fifth in moto one, she moved up to fourth after a competitor’s mistake. In moto two, despite a poor start, she charged through the pack to secure another fourth-place finish. The JS Racing rider is now sixth in the standings. Lysa Raoux (5-5) broke into the overall top five for the first time. The Kawasaki rider delivered two solid motos and is now a strong contender in the fight for fifth in the championship. Lea Chaput (6-6), still recovering from an injury sustained in Germany, rode with caution but collected important points. Her efforts keep her in fourth place overall in the MXF championship.

Van Muylem and Marques battle for Top 10

JPR team rider Britt Van Muylem (8-7) continued to build momentum with two solid motos. Now sitting tenth in the championship, she remains one of five riders in contention for fifth overall. Lena Marques (7-8), riding for JS Racing, didn’t feel comfortable on the Chaulieu circuit but still managed to score valuable points to support her championship position.

Peirolo and Masset shine

125cc Podium: Mesland and Huffling

Kawasaki’s Kiara Mesland finished second in the 125cc category. She felt at ease on the Chaulieu track and narrowly missed pole position by just 0.2 seconds. Calie Huffling completed the podium with a strong recovery in race two despite a difficult start. She is now just one point behind the second in the 125cc standings.

The next round could be decisive for the future winners, but also for the other positions. We’ll have answers in less than three weeks in Bellême.
