Swedish motocross talent Elsa Andersson Löf is making waves in 2025. After scoring her first WMX World Championship points in the opening round (watch the video of her weekend), she has now claimed her second EMX Women 125 European Championship title—winning four of the six rounds on the calendar.
Riding her GasGas 125, the young Swede secured third place overall in the EMX Women European Championship standings for the second time, behind Lucy Barker and Elena Kapsamer.
Calm and focused, she continues to progress steadily, one race at a time. She sat down with us to reflect on her European season and share her thoughts on what’s next.
Elsa, second consecutive title in EMX Women 125 – how do you feel after this victory?
It feels great. I couldn’t believe this a couple of years ago. To be able to repeat the success of 2024 but now on different tracks, in difficult conditions against new riders feels like closing a final chapter of the 125 years and a testament of my capability on that bike. It feels like a solid result. 5 medals in 3 years.
You’re the second person to achieve this after Martine Hughes, which makes you part of the history books of this young championship. Do you realize that?
Yes, my dad mentioned it. To follow in the footsteps of Martine, a woman who rides so strong and with power is an honor. I have a long way left to go there.
You led both the EMX Women and EMX Women 125 championships – did you feel any added pressure?
YES. I really didn’t want that RedPlate but Dad read the rules and you have to. I am not there yet and rode like crap with a big crash in the mud the following weekend in Germany.
You finished third in the EMX Women championship – do you want to return next year to try for the title?
I would love to but the focus on my main partners for 2026 is the WMX and I would also like to give the strong, Swedish Championships a go. Let’s see how the calendar plans out.
Which round stood out the most for you this season, and why?
Defzijl (Netherlands) was great. Technical track with a Super competitive field. Managed a 4-5 for 5th with the same points as the 4th rider. Was fun!
What’s your plan for the end of the season?
I want to race as much as possible on the 125 before I move up to 250 in the autumn. I will ride ZwarteCross (my favourite race) and the Swedish Nationals. I will race the boys as much as possible.
Do you have any thanks?
My Dad is everything for me in this sport. BussDriver, cook, main sponsor, trainer, media coach, mentor and mechanic (but I am better, less lazy). Except for that I am blessed with great partners who takes care of most that we need, from boots and gear to engines, tires and suspension. I am most grateful.
