Round 2 of the 2026 AMA National Hare & Hound Championship brought the women’s field to Chaney Ranch, and once again, it was Ava Silvestri who set the standard.
Fresh off her opening-round victory, the Norman Racing rider delivered another commanding performance, further establishing herself as the early championship favorite.
Silvestri wasted no time taking control of the race. By the end of the first lap, she had already built a 24-second advantage over her main title rival, Rachel Stout. Behind the leading duo, Catalina Springstroh and Ashlee Gage settled into their rhythm, keeping the pressure on in the battle for the final podium position.
As the race unfolded across the demanding desert terrain, Silvestri continued to stretch her lead. Smooth, consistent and mistake-free, she crossed the finish line with more than a three-minute cushion over Stout.
While the victory was clear-cut at the front, the fight behind added intensity to the race. Springstroh, aboard her Beta, secured third place ahead of Gage’s Kawasaki. With identical points leaving Chaney Ranch, the battle for third in the championship standings is already shaping up to be one of the key storylines of the season.
Two rounds in, two victories for Silvestri. The Norman Racing rider is building early momentum, but with Stout remaining consistent and the chasing pack closing in, the title fight is far from settled.
The championship now heads to Murphy at the end of March — another demanding test that could further define the early-season hierarchy.
