The second round of the WMX World Championship in Germany has concluded, bringing significant changes to the manufacturers’ standings after two rounds.
GasGas added another 50 points thanks to Daniela Guillen’s dominant double victory. The manufacturer now boasts a perfect record and appears well on its way to retaining the title. Yamaha lost ground but remains second in the standings. Lotte van Drunen contributed valuable points with her fourth-place finish, while Shana van der Vlist added 20 points on Sunday after finishing third in both the second race and the overall classification.
Behind the top two, a fierce battle is developing among four manufacturers. Honda held on to third place thanks to the points scored by Larissa Papenmeier in her final Grand Prix appearance. KTM moved into a tie for fifth place, with Malou Jakobsen and Lucy Barker both contributing to the Austrian brand’s tally. Kawasaki remains firmly in contention thanks to Courtney Duncan’s 31-point haul, while Lynn Valk matched that total for TM with 31 points of her own.
Husqvarna’s Jenny Engeland scored four points in the second race, but the Austrian manufacturer remains seventh in the standings and has lost touch with the leading group. Triumph rounds out the classification with eight points, all scored by Amber Simons on Sunday in Germany.
