Lachlan Turner closes in on her second WMX US title

The fifth round of the WMX US Championship 2025 took place this Friday at Unadilla, delivering another exciting battle between the series’ top riders.

Lachlan Turner (2-1) secured another overall victory at Unadilla. After leading much of the opening moto, Turner was passed by Charli Cannon and had to settle for second place. Determined to bounce back, the Altus Motorsports Blu Cru Yamaha Amateur Team rider dominated the second moto from start to finish. This latest win brings Turner even closer to her second WMX US Championship title, which will be decided next week. Charli Cannon (1-2) earned her first-ever moto victory on American soil. The Honda Quad Lock rider showed impressive speed in Moto 1, recovering from a small mistake before passing Turner on the final lap. In Moto 2, Cannon quickly moved into second place but could not match Turner’s pace. Despite a small error, the Australian rider tied on points with Turner for the round, marking an important milestone in her U.S. campaign. Mikayla Nielsen (3-3) made a strong return to the podium. After a crash in the previous round, the SLR Honda rider delivered a solid performance at Unadilla. While she was unable to challenge the leading duo, “KayKay” showed consistency and secured valuable championship points with two third-place finishes.

Jordan Jarvis (4-4) delivered two solid motos with strong pace, although her starts cost her a potential podium. Still, the Yamaha rider leaves Unadilla with positives to build on. Kyleigh Stallings (5-5) once again lived up to her “holeshot queen” reputation by taking the start in both races. However, the Kawasaki rider struggled to maintain the rhythm and had to fight hard to secure a top-five finish. Jamie Astudillo (6-6) continued her consistent form. Fresh off her second consecutive Canadian WMX East Championship, the DBD Racing rider pressured Stallings in both motos and narrowly missed the top five.
